Arc Flash Risk Assessment
An arc flash risk assessment is a comprehensive evaluation of the potential hazards and risks associated with electrical arcs in a workplace or facility. This process involves collecting the electrical system data (breakers, panels, electrical equipment) by our field services team and modeled by our engineering department. An arc flash is a sudden release of electrical energy that occurs when there is a fault or short circuit in an electrical system. This release of energy can result in a violent explosion, producing intense heat, light, sound, and pressure waves, which can cause serious injuries, damage equipment, and even lead to fatalities.
Infrared Thermal Imaging
Infrared thermal imaging, also known as infrared thermography or thermal imaging, is a technology that captures and visualizes the infrared radiation (heat) emitted by items in the electrical system to track down problems before they become larger issues. This process includes scanning equipment for variations in temperature to find equipment starting to breakdown or fail. Infrared thermal imaging is based on the principle that all objects with a temperature above absolute zero (-273.15°C or -459.67°F) emit infrared radiation, which is invisible to the human eye but can be detected by specialized cameras and sensors.
Power Systems Studies
Power Systems Studies refer to a set of engineering and analytical investigations conducted to evaluate, design, and optimize electrical power systems. These studies are essential for ensuring the reliable, safe, and efficient operation of power generation, transmission, and distribution systems. Power systems studies are conducted by our highly trained electrical engineers in the software SKM power tools to assess the performance of your electrical system. Here are some key types of power systems studies: Load Flow Studies. Short Circuit Studies, Coordination Studies, Arc Flash Hazard Analysis, Transient Studies, and Reliability Studies.
NFPA 70E Safety Training
Arc Flash Training / NFPA 70E classes are performed online or onsite to help protect employees from the dangers of electrical hazards faced in the workplace every day. Classes are offered in multiple languages to ensure your employees are trained and understand the NFPA 70E. The goal is to ensure employees have the knowledge to institute safe work practices and understand electrical hazards.
Electrical Design Services
Our team specializes in creating bespoke power and lighting solutions, ensuring seamless integration with architectural designs. We prioritize energy efficiency, utilizing cutting-edge technologies for sustainable and cost-effective systems. Our designs strictly adhere to regulatory standards, guaranteeing safety and reliability. Through close collaboration with architects and contractors, we ensure that every project is executed with precision, meeting the unique needs of each facility.
Electrical Metering and Monitoring
Can I add a load (EV Chargers, new tenant panels or a new appliance) to my system without overloads? We provide electrical metering and reports based on 30-day metering to comply with the NFPA 70 and provide a report of average, max and min loads on the metered panel.
LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out)
LOTO is safety procedure used particularly in settings with machinery, equipment, and electrical systems. The primary purpose of LOTO is to prevent the unexpected release of hazardous energy from equipment during maintenance, repair, or servicing activities. This procedure helps protect workers from potentially life-threatening injuries that can occur when equipment is accidentally energized or started while being worked on.
Lightning Protection Inspections
We will inspect your rooftop lighting protection system to ensure it’s in compliance with UL96A and if not provide a list of items to bring it back into specifications.
EV Infrastructure Design Services
EV Infrastructure Design Services include planning and design of EVs for your facility. We can design for an entire fleet or just a local charging station
